A World on Its Knees

Now, more than ever, we need stand with our Haitian sisters and brothers, both those in Haiti and their friends and relatives around the world. Many of us may not have the opportunity to provide hands-on help for the Haitians. Many may not have the financial resources to make what might seem like a significant contribution (although all contributions are significant). Many may be concerned about the risk of corruption and of scams in the use and distribution of financial contributions to Haiti (as well as with relief efforts elsewhere in the past). Some may even be self-righteously judging the Haitian people. However, God is not running a scam! Through our prayer, we can lift up the needs of the Haitian people now that they will be able to rebuild their lives, their nation and their Church. What at times through the media coverage may seem like a very secular human relief effort relying merely on human talents and donated money, can be empowered by God through our prayer and our trust in Him to produce superhuman, extraordinary and even miraculous results.
