The Feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe - August 14

“No one in the world can change Truth. What we can do and should do is to seek truth and to serve it when we have found it. The real conflict is the inner conflict. Beyond the armies of occupation and the hecatombs of extermination camps, there are two irreconcilable enemies in the depth of every soul: good and evil, sin and love. And what use are the victories on the battlefield if we ourselves are defeated in our innermost personal selves?” (Maximililan Kolbe, 1894-1941)

Consecration Prayer of the Militia Immaculata by St. Maximilian

O Immaculata, Queen of Heaven and earth, refuge of sinners and our most loving Mother, God has willed to entrust the entire order of mercy to thee. I N____, a repentant sinner, cast myself at thy feet humbly imploring thee to take me with all that I am and have, wholly to thyself as thy possession and property. Please make of me, of all my powers of soul and body, of my whole life, death and eternity, whatever most pleases thee. It if pleases thee, use all that I am and have without reserve, wholly to accomplish what was said of the: “She will crush your head,” and, “Thou alone have destroyed all heresies in the world.”

Let me be a fit instrument in thy Immaculate and merciful hands for introducing and increasing the maximum in all the many strayed and indifferent souls, and thus help extend as far as possible the blessed Kingdom of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. For wherever thou enter, one obtains the grace of conversion and growth in holiness, since it is through thy hands that all graces come to us from the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

V. Allow me to praise the O Sacred Virgin.

R. Give me strength against thy enemies.

(If the above steps are followed: consciously renouncing all sin (even venial), Confession, Mass and the Eucharist, six Our Fathers & Hail Mary’s & Glory Be’s for the intentions of the Pope, a Plenary Indulgence is received. Then, piously wear the Miraculous Medal and ask for the intercession of St. Maximilian to help you become a good child of Mary.)

What has Our Lady of Emmitsburg said on St. Maximilian's feast day?

“…As a humble servant in love with my God, my Son and your Savior, I desire and invite all peoples to know Him, to follow and love Him, to be safe and to be free. There are many difficulties in life, especially today, as the world has become more secular than ever before in a way where God is not a part of life’s equation. Therefore, very few truly are enthralled by the Love of God and His Grace, and in obedience simply desire what He wills….” (OLOE Private 08-14-08)
